Resin position lights and rudder for the Spitfire Mk.IX 1:72 from Aires/Quickboost. A detail replacement for the rudder and the position lights for a truer airframe.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the aircraft aftermarket maker Aires/Quickboost is a resin replacement for the rudder and the position lights of a model of the Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane kit but a detail accessory that replaces the corresponding plastic parts from the base kit with more finely cast items of truer shape and structure.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most successful British fighters of the Second World War, powered by the Merlin engine. The rudder and the position lights on the wingtips are among the prominent shaped features whose accuracy contributes to the overall fidelity of a model.
First wash the resin parts to remove any mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The rudder can be fitted slightly deflected to liven up the model; we recommend undercoating the position lights and, if you like, covering them with a clear layer for the look of glass.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
