Eduard Brassin 1:72 Spitfire Mk.IX top cowl early is a resin replacement top engine cowl in the early configuration for 1:72 models of the Spitfire Mk.IX. It is a detail accessory, not a standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin part from Eduard is a replacement for the top engine cowl in its early form for 1:72 models of the Spitfire Mk.IX. The resin casting captures the shape and the surface detail of the cowl more accurately than injection-molded plastic can. It is not an airplane model but an aftermarket accessory that improves one particular part of the kit.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most successful versions of the legendary British fighter, powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin 61 and later engines. The top engine cowl changed in detail during production; this set matches the early cowl configuration with the corresponding shapes and venting.
Wash the mold release agent off the part and separate it carefully from the casting block. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Try the transition between the resin cowl and the plastic of the fuselage dry and sand it gently if needed; protect your airways while sanding. Degrease the surface before painting.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
