A set of finely cast position lights for building the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane kit but a resin accessory that replaces the small parts from the plastic kit with a more faithful shape. Once coated with clear paint, the position lights can be picked out as transparent covers. It is made by Quickboost, a brand of the Aires company.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb was a British single-engine fighter of the Second World War with a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine. The Mk.V version was one of the most widespread and carried the B wing with both cannons and machine guns. The position lights on the wingtips and on the fuselage are among the typical small details that liven up a finished model.
Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces, then bond the small parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The lights can be undercoated in silver and glazed with transparent shades (red, green, clear) for the look of glass. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
