Quickboost 1:72 Spitfire PR.XIX exhausts is a resin set of exhaust pipes for a model of the British photo-reconnaissance Spitfire with the Griffon engine in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set from Quickboost, made by Aires, brings faithfully cast exhaust pipes for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire PR Mk XIX in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers, replacing the plastic exhausts with a crisp casting with suggested hollows in the stubs.
The Supermarine Spitfire PR Mk XIX was a high-performance photo-reconnaissance aircraft powered by the Rolls-Royce Griffon engine. It was among the last and most capable reconnaissance versions of the Spitfire and, thanks to its great ceiling and speed, it served long after the Second World War.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue from the mold. Cut off the casting blocks with a sharp saw or knife and sand the cut surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate), not with ordinary plastic cement. Test the fit dry before painting, as resin may need a little cleaning up.
The set is supplied as a resin part, unassembled and unpainted. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a plastic kit. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
