The decals s.Pz.Abt. 501, 1943 to 1944 in 1:72 scale are intended for Tiger I tanks and the command Befehls-Tiger I of mid production on the Eastern Front.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Star Decals sheet for small models. It is aimed at a single heavy tank battalion and its machines in the range of the years 1943 and 1944, specifically at the Tiger I and the command version Befehls-Tiger I in the mid production form.
The designation s.Pz.Abt. 501 belonged to an independent heavy battalion, which after its earlier commitment was raised again and sent to the eastern battlefield. The command Tigers differed from the ordinary ones in their extended radio equipment and the related arrangement of aerials; on the outside they looked almost identical, so it is precisely the markings that tell them apart. The mid production run is recognizable by the revised turret cupola and the reworked arrangement on the hull.
The tactical numbers on the turret are tiny in this scale and their spacing decides the final impression. Place them one character at a time and between applying each of them check the spacing and the alignment to the lower edge. A thin guide line drawn with a soft pencil helps, which you wipe off once it has dried. On the sloping side wall of the turret reckon with the fact that a number will be optically stretched.
