The assault gun Stug III ARMINIUS in 1:72 scale is a fictional machine from the science-fiction range of Black Dog, following on in shape from the classic low silhouette.
Responsibility details are not available.
The model captures an invented assault gun whose shapes follow on from one of the most widespread tracked designs of the Second World War. The name of the machine refers to the figure of the Germanic chieftain, and it relates to the product as the whole science-fiction range of Black Dog does: this is free invention, not a copy of existing equipment.
Assault guns came about as a cheaper and lower alternative to tanks. Leaving out the revolving turret saved weight as well as height, which made them hard-to-hit machines suited to infantry support and to defense. That low, squat silhouette is still easily recognizable today and in a small scale it reads as very compact, because the attention goes to the hull and the tracks instead of to a turret.
Flat side walls tempt you toward a stronger camouflage, but restraint gives the better result: two shades with a soft transition and plenty of work on the shadows. Paint the tracks separately before fitting them, so that you can reach between the rollers as well. Small scuffs applied with a sponge belong on the edges of the side panels, because that is exactly where the armor rubs against the terrain.
The package contains the parts for the build; a finished, painted machine will come out of it only through your own work.
