This is a resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Aires in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory meant to replace and refine the cockpit on a plastic Su-27 kit. Sets of this kind usually contain a cast cockpit tub, an instrument panel, side panels and an ejection seat with finer detail than the base plastic offers.
The Su-27, NATO reporting name Flanker, is a twin-engine supersonic air superiority fighter with a characteristically blended fuselage and wing. The roomy cockpit with its classic analog instruments is typical of this type and in 1:72 scale it is among the clearly visible areas of a model.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before the fuselage is closed, check the seating of the tub dry and sand down the thickness of the walls if need be. The cockpit is best painted part by part before final assembly.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
