Replacement exhaust nozzles for a model of the Su-27 Flanker B fighter in 1:72 scale. An accessory set for the tail of the model, where the plastic parts tend to be shallow.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Su-27 is among the largest fighters of its day. In NATO usage it is carried as the Flanker, with the letter B belonging to the single-seat production version. Two engines in separate nacelles and long exhaust nozzles give the tail its typical straddled shape, which cannot be missed on a model.
The set brings replacement exhaust nozzles for a model in 1:72 scale. The segment edges are thinner and the interior reaches deeper than the kit parts allow, so the view into the nozzle does not end at a blind wall.
The parts are not polystyrene and are bonded with super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little short of the part, sand off the rest and dry-fit the mating surface until the nozzles sit without being forced. Wash and degrease them before painting. Spray the inside first, because once it is seated in the nacelles you will not reach it. Apply metallic shades in thin coats and keep the shading toward the end of the nozzle restrained, otherwise the model will look more worn than is true to life.
The set is for modelers who are bothered by a blunt finish to the tail from the box and want to deal with it without making their own parts. The work takes a short while and the result shows from every angle, especially with the model standing tail-on to the viewer in a display case. A sharp knife, fine abrasive paper and a moment for seating it accurately are all it takes. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
