Eduard 1:72 Su-33 Flanker-D masking set

A set of pre-die-cut self-adhesive masks in masking tape for models of the Sukhoi Su-33 carrier-based fighter (Flanker-D under the NATO reporting name) in 1:72 scale. The masks follow the framing of the canopy exactly, so you achieve crisp frames without the tedium of cutting. Circular masks for the wheel hubs are usually enclosed as well.

The real subject

The Sukhoi Su-33 is a Russian single-seat carrier-based fighter derived from the Su-27 family. It came about for operation from an aircraft carrier: it has folding wings, strengthened landing gear, a tailhook and forward horizontal surfaces (canards). It serves as a means of air superiority over a ship formation.

Use

• Stick the masks onto clean, degreased glazing on the model.
• Press the edges down thoroughly against paint running underneath.
• Spray the cockpit frames and lift the masks off once dry.
• Use the circular masks when painting the wheels.
