1:72 Sukhoi Su-27 UB/P Ukraine is a kit by Heller from which you can build either the two-seat combat trainer UB version or the single-seat Su-27P fighter, both in Ukrainian markings.

This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale offers a choice between two versions of one machine. The UB/P designation in the name is not a typo and not two items merged: according to the manufacturer the package holds parts for both variants, so the modeler decides whether to build the two-seat or the single-seat aircraft. The decals are aimed at machines of the Ukrainian Air Force.
The Su-27 is a heavy twin-engine fighter with the characteristic blended shape of fuselage and wing. It is powered by two AL-31F turbofan engines. The Su-27P version is a single-seat fighter intended for air defense, while the Su-27UB is a two-seat combat trainer variant with seats in tandem and a raised rear canopy. The difference between them is therefore fundamental, because the forward part of the airframe is laid out differently. The type formed the backbone of the fighter forces of several countries, Ukraine among them.
Decide right at the start which version you are building, because the choice affects the parts of the forward fuselage and the canopy. Finish and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage, and on the two-seat version count on two stations. Carefully fill and sand the joints on the spine and in the wing-to-fuselage transition. The multicolor camouflage of modern machines is sprayed with an airbrush in layers starting from the lightest, with soft transitions. Apply a gloss varnish under the decals and unify the surface with a matte one at the end. Leave the landing gear and the stores until last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
