This add-on set from the manufacturer Armory brings landing gear wheels with the late type of hubs, of the kind carried by the newer machines of the Su-27 line and the two-seat Su-30. The tires are cast with a flattening from loading and the late configuration of the nose wheel mudguard completes the set. It is the counterpart of the separately offered set with early hubs — together they cover various production periods of this extensive family of aircraft.
The Sukhoi Su-27 came about in the Soviet Union as a fighter for winning air superiority, and from the middle of the 1980s it became the basis of a whole family of machines. The two-seat Su-30 was developed from it as a multirole aircraft with a long range, which saw a whole range of export versions. As production went on, the details of the landing gear changed as well, including the shape of the wheel hubs and of the nose wheel mudguard.
Separate the castings from the casting blocks, clean them up and wash them with detergent; glue with super glue. Before painting, look up photographs of the particular machine — the look of the hubs and the coloring differed between aircraft and periods. A dark wash around the bolts and the lightening holes of the hubs will bring the detail out nicely.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base kit of the aircraft is not included in the package.
