This detail set from the Czech maker Quickboost (the Aires workshop) holds a resin ejection seat with faithfully molded safety belts for a model of the British Supermarine Swift FR.5 reconnaissance fighter in 1:72 scale. The belts are cast directly as part of the piece, so there is no folding of photo-etched buckles. The set is a replacement part, not a stand-alone model.
The ejection seat is a conspicuous element of an open cockpit. The resin replacement brings crisper detail of the frame and the cushion than plastic, and thanks to the molded belts the cockpit looks richer with no extra work.
Wash the part free of mold release agent and cut the casting block off with a fine saw. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). A dark base coat and dry brushing of the edges make painting easier; bring out the belts in a different shade. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
The set holds only the resin seat. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
