An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet medium tank T-55A in 1:72 scale from Italeri. It is a modern mold with nicely rendered detail and decals. The model is supplied unassembled and makes a rewarding project in a smaller scale, even for collectors with limited room in the display case.
The T-55 was among the most widespread tanks in the world and became a symbol of Soviet Cold War armor. The T-55A version brought, among other things, improved protection of the crew against the effects of radiation. With its 100mm gun and low silhouette it served in large numbers with dozens of armies and took part in a number of conflicts all over the world.
The smaller scale calls for careful work with small parts. Paint the running gear and the tracks separately, unify the hull with a base green and accentuate the details with a wash. Dust pigments on the lower areas and fine chipping will give the tank a realistic look. We recommend a thin glue for plastic and a primer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
