Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese prototype Tachikawa Ki-106 in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer RS Models. It is a short-run kit, which calls for more careful preparation of the parts. This package carries decals for Japanese what-if home defense schemes. It therefore differs from the variant with Japanese and Manchurian markings.
The Ki-106 was a wooden version of the proven fighter Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate, developed at the close of the war in order to save scarce strategic materials. It kept the shape of the original but was heavier. Only a few prototypes were built by the end of the war and the machine never reached combat use; the color schemes are therefore largely what-if.
On a short-run kit, clean the flash off the parts, fit the surfaces by sanding and glue the joints with a thin cement for plastic. Apply a primer, which will show up any unevenness. You can convey the wooden structure of the real aircraft with fine glazing and a hint of brown tones under the upper camouflage. Mask the glazing, pick out the engraved detail with a wash and use a gloss varnish before the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
