Tempest Mk. V 1:72 - a set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks of yellow kabuki paper for precise unmasking of the glazing and the wheels of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely cut set of self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a plastic model of the Hawker Tempest Mk. V fighter in 1:72 scale. The masks of fine Japanese kabuki paper hold well on glazing, follow the curves and leave no adhesive behind when removed. They cover the cockpit and the clear parts so that after spraying only the frames remain, crisply bounded. The set usually also contains masks for the wheels, for painting the tire and the hub separately.
The Hawker Tempest Mk. V was a British fighter of the closing stage of the Second World War, developed from the Typhoon. It was powered by the potent Napier Sabre engine with its cylinders arranged in an H layout, and it had a new, thinner wing. It excelled in high speed at low altitude and proved itself both in destroying ground targets and in intercepting German V-1 missiles.
Lift the mask off the sheet with a sharp blade or tweezers, lay it on the part and press it down so that it adheres all the way around. Apply the paint in thin coats so that it cannot creep under the edge. Remove the masks while the paint is still fresh. For the cockpit frames we recommend spraying the interior color first and the airframe color afterwards.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
