This item is an accessory, not a kit of a vehicle. The resin casting depicts an ammunition crate related to the Tiger I heavy tank and serves to fit out a model in 1:72 scale or to complete a diorama scene. It can be placed on the hull, on the fenders, on a base or loose in the terrain beside the vehicle. Resin holds the sharp edges of the planks, the ironwork and the handles, which in an injection mold would be lost at this scale. The number of pieces in the package is stated on the box.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War period, armed with an 8.8 cm gun. Characteristic features of the vehicle were its angular hull, the wide running gear with interleaved road wheels and its great weight, which limited its mobility. Ammunition was brought up to the vehicles in transport crates, which appeared with them during resupply and maintenance. For a modeler it is a small thing that gives a model scale and context.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap so that the residue of the mold release agent is removed. Cut the casting block off with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw over a tray with a raised rim. Glue with superglue applied with a pin, not straight from the bottle. Apply a thin coat of primer. You will imitate wood with a lighter base and a darker glaze drawn along the grain, and bring out the ironwork with a dark wash and a fine rub on the edges. At the end you will match the accessory to its surroundings with dust pigments, so that it does not look like an alien element in the scene.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
