A plastic model of the prototype Polish TKW tankette in 1:72 scale from the Polish manufacturer RPM. The kit captures the machine armed with the Hotchkiss wz. 25 machine gun in a rotating turret - an interesting development branch of the Polish tankettes that only rarely appears as a kit.
The TKW tankette was created in the 1930s as an attempt to add a rotating turret to the production TK-3 and TKS tankettes and so to remove their main weakness, the need to aim by turning the whole vehicle. Only a few prototypes were built and the type never reached production; it is, however, one of the interesting chapters of interwar Polish armor development and a rewarding subject for collectors of curiosities.
This is a kit from a smaller producer, so expect to prepare the parts more carefully - checking the fit, filling gently and sanding the joints back. Separate the small parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thinner plastic cement. For the camouflage the Polish interwar scheme suggests itself; the weathering is helped by a fine wash into the joints and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
