The Tornado IDS/GR.Mk.1 1:72 photo-etched detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a model - these are fine metal parts for sharpening a kit of the Tornado.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of fine photo-etched metal parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended for sharpening a plastic kit of the two-seat Panavia Tornado combat aircraft in the IDS/GR.Mk.1 version in 1:72 scale. It is not a model or a kit - it is an accessory that replaces or completes plastic parts with more faithful metal ones. Photo-etched parts thinner than plastic give the cockpit and the outer surfaces a depth and structure that injected plastic cannot manage.
The Panavia Tornado is a two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, developed jointly by Germany, the United Kingdom and Italy. The IDS (Interdictor/Strike) version was intended for attacks on ground targets and low-level penetration; British aircraft in this role carried the designation GR.Mk.1. The tandem cockpit, the elaborate landing gear and the richly divided surfaces make the Tornado a rewarding subject for detailed improvement.
The finest parts belong in the interior before the fuselage is closed up, while small exterior items are glued to the finished model. Cut the parts off with a sharp knife at the fret and shape the bends over the edge of a ruler or with a bender. Bond them with a small drop of super glue (cyanoacrylate). Because of the size, the set is aimed at advanced modelers - tweezers and a magnifier are worth having.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
