A masking set for a model of the Tu-160 bomber in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Tu-160 is a Soviet and later Russian supersonic strategic bomber, the largest aircraft in its category. Its distinguishing marks are the variable-geometry wing, which opens out for takeoff and landing and sweeps back for fast flight, and the smooth silhouette with a long pointed nose. It is exactly that large surface area and those clean shapes that make a model of the Tu-160 in 1:72 scale a striking piece on which every unfinished edge of the finish shows.
This is a masking set for this aircraft in 1:72 scale, that is, templates that are stuck onto the model before spraying and lifted once the paint is dry. Which surfaces the set covers and how many parts it contains are given in the manufacturer's instructions; follow them for the order of colors as well. Before buying, check which kit the set is cut for, because masks are cut to the particular shape of the parts.
Press the mask down all the way around, above all where it passes over engraving or over a curved surface; wherever paint gets under the edge, a smeared boundary appears that cannot be put right except by spraying again. Apply the paint in several thin coats and direct it across the edge of the mask rather than along it. Lift the mask soon after it has dried, slowly and at an acute angle.
What is supplied is a masking set. The aircraft model, paints and decals are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
