Type 3 Chi-Nu 1:72 (IBG models) — an injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese medium tank in the small scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese Type 3 Chi-Nu medium tank in 1:72 scale from IBG models. For a small scale it offers respectable detail; the package is rounded out with photo-etched parts, two crew figures and decals. The model faithfully captures a late Japanese medium tank with its prominent turret and long gun.
The Type 3 Chi-Nu was a late Japanese medium tank developed from the Type 97 Chi-Ha. It was armed with a 75 mm gun — one of the most powerful Japanese tank weapons of the time — and was meant to face the Allied Sherman tanks, against which the older Japanese tanks were weak. Relatively few vehicles were built and they were held mainly for the defense of the home islands, so they barely saw combat.
A small scale forgives fewer mistakes — clean up the mold marks carefully and glue with thin cement and a minimum of excess. Finish the running gear and the lower hull first. Bend the fine photo-etched parts with tweezers. Lay down a thin coat of primer, spray the earthy Japanese shades and add the camouflage with a brush. Weathering works with thinned washes and fine pigments, so that it does not look coarse in the small scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
