This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Polish brand IBG Models represents the projected variant of the Japanese Type 3 Chi-Nu medium tank, designated Kai. The package holds plastic sprues, photo-etched brass sheet for the fine detail, a decal sheet and two figures. The tracks are made as parts combined with the wheels for an easier build, with surface detail straight from the mold.
The Type 3 Chi-Nu was a Japanese medium tank of the end of the Second World War, developed in haste as an answer to Allied tanks. The Chi-Nu Kai variant was to carry a more powerful 75 mm gun in a larger turret derived from the Type 4 Chi-To tank. It was a late project whose actual completion and use remain uncertain.
Bend the photo-etched parts over a sharp edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Join the plastic parts with cement for plastic and sand the seams back. Finish the underside and the running gear before you close the hull. Spray the base coat with an airbrush, apply the decals onto a gloss varnish and refine the weathering with a wash and dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
