The U-2, nicknamed the Dragon Lady, is an American high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft that differs from ordinary machines at a glance: it has an extremely slender wing of great span and altogether rather glider-like proportions. The U-2C version is one of its older, more powerful reworkings. On a model the long cabin and the extensive glazed area are conspicuous, and that area calls for careful masking while painting.
The masks are of kabuki paper tape. It conforms well to the curve of a canopy, holds on smooth plastic and on an already sprayed surface, and can be removed without tearing. The parts are pre-cut to the shape of the individual areas, so the laborious tracing of glazing with hand-cut tape falls away and the edge of the spray comes out straight.
This item is the BASIC variant, that is, the basic extent of the set. In the same range, ADVANCED and EXPERT variants with a greater extent occur on other aircraft. Which areas the set covers is given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
