The set offers an accurate casting of the American R-2800 radial engine in its late form, including fine structure on the cylinders and the accessories. It serves for an open presentation of the engine section on suitable aircraft kits in 1:72 scale.
The Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp was an American air-cooled two-row 18-cylinder radial engine of the Second World War and the postwar era. It powered a number of well-known machines, among them fighters and attack aircraft with radial engines. The late version differed in some details of the accessories.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand with your airways protected. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The engine comes alive once metallic shades, picked-out plumbing and a fine wash that draws out the cylinder finning have gone on.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue, paints and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
