About product

The Spalah KBA-48M 82 mm mortar in 1:72

This is a resin model of the light 82 mm KBA-48M mortar in 1:72, made by the technology of 3D printing, from the Ukrainian manufacturer Spalah. It is not a kit of a vehicle or of an aircraft but a detail accessory intended to bring dioramas and scenes of a modern conflict to life. The fine printing captures the barrel, the bipod and the baseplate of the mortar.

The real subject

The KBA-48M is a Ukrainian light mortar of 82 mm caliber based on the proven design of the Soviet 2B14 Podnos mortar. It is a mobile weapon of fire support for infantry, which can be carried easily and brought quickly into a firing position. In present-day dioramas it represents a typical element of the equipment of foot units.

Use and fitting

  • Wash the print resin residue off the parts and separate them carefully from the print supports
  • Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue)
  • We recommend a plastic primer as a base and painting with an airbrush or a brush
  • A wash into the recesses and light dusting with pigments will complete the effect

Who it is for

For makers of dioramas and military scenes of a modern battlefield and for modelers who complete figures and equipment with realistic gear.

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
