An injection-molded plastic kit of the American twin-boom night fighter Northrop P-61A Black Widow in 1:72 scale. The model is issued by Hobby Boss. The box holds plastic parts, clear glazing parts and a decal sheet with American markings.
The P-61 Black Widow was the first American aircraft designed from the outset as a specialized night fighter fitted with airborne radar. Its twin-engine, twin-boom layout with a roomy nacelle for a crew of three allowed it to carry heavy gun armament and to operate in darkness and bad weather. The type was deployed above all in the Pacific and in Europe in the closing stage of the Second World War.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, and sand and fill the joins of the booms and the nacelle. Apply a primer before painting. The characteristic gloss black night camouflage comes into its own when sprayed with an airbrush over a smooth base; matte and gloss black shades can be shaded gently. Settle the decals on a gloss coat and mask the extensive glazing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
