Eduard 1:72 Vickers Wellington Mk.II landing flaps is a photo-etched set for the landing flaps of the British bomber in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory to a kit, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts from thin metal sheet intended to replace the landing flaps on a model of the Vickers Wellington Mk.II bomber in 1:72 scale. In injection-molded plastic the flaps tend to be markedly thicker than reality would suggest for production reasons, and in the lowered position that is glaring. Photo-etched sheet makes it possible to build the flaps extended and in a realistic thickness. Made by Eduard, a Czech brand. The package contains neither a kit nor paints.
The Vickers Wellington was a British twin-engine bomber with a geodetic structure of the airframe designed by Barnes Wallis. The framework of light sections was covered with fabric, which gave the airframe flexibility and resistance to damage. The Mk.II version had Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines instead of radial ones, which corresponds to a different shape of the engine nacelles. On a model of a machine with fabric covering it pays to take care over the fineness of the edges so that the surface does not look coarse.
Cut the parts off the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard backing. The original plastic flaps have to be cut away and the area sanded carefully so that the photo-etched part beds down. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two rulers, and with flaps of a ribbed structure proceed slowly so that you do not ripple the sheet. Degrease the sheet, glue with cyanoacrylate glue and use a primer intended for metal before painting.
The set does not contain a kit. It is an accessory to a model; check that it matches the kit you are building.
