A resin conversion set from AML in 1:72 scale for the Arado Ar 196 shipboard floatplane in the B-0 version. It contains the parts typical of this variant, as a rule with decals as well. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory for a plastic model of the corresponding scale, which is not in the package.
The Arado Ar 196 was a shipboard reconnaissance floatplane of the Kriegsmarine, launched by catapult from surface ships. The B version was worked out on a trial basis in a single-float arrangement with support floats under the wings, as against the production A variant with two large floats. The conversion makes it possible to build exactly this less usual form.
Wash the resin parts to remove mold release residue, separate the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before seating the float arrangement, measure the position carefully and clean up the mating faces. Sand resin with respiratory protection. Apply the decals onto a glossy base and fix them with varnish.
This is an accessory for a model; the aircraft kit itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
