Responsibility details are not available.
An injection molded plastic kit of the experimental VVA-14 machine in 1:72 scale from the brand Modelsvit. This box captures the configuration with inflatable pontoons, which is exactly what sets it apart from the other release of the same type. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Given the span and the complexity of the subject, it is a larger build than is usual in 1:72.
The VVA-14 was a Soviet experimental machine developed in the 1970s that was to combine the properties of an aircraft and of a machine using the ground effect over a water surface. In design it is a very unusual shape: a wide lifting center fuselage, two side pontoons and a large outer wing. The inflatable pontoons belonged to the original design and were to let the machine lift off from a water surface without a classic float undercarriage. The program remained at the prototype stage and never reached series production, but thanks to its appearance it is among the most distinctive machines of its time and is a rewarding subject precisely for modelers.
On the large faces of the wing and the center fuselage, test the fit dry before you reach for the glue. Large spans tend to be sensitive to twisting, so let the assembly cure on a flat base. The joints between the fuselage and the pontoons are the most visible, and it pays to fill and sand them in several steps. Apply a primer before spraying, so that the remaining flaws stand out. Because of the size of the finished model, think out in advance where it will stand in a display case and how it might be held.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
