The fourth sheet of the Wiking series is tied to the service of the division in the Caucasus in the years 1942 to 1943. The markings are intended for the vehicles of the headquarters company, namely for the light Pz II Ausf F, the command Pz.Bef.Wg III Ausf H and the fighting Pz III Ausf J.
The PzKpfw II in the Ausf F version was the closing series form of the light tank with a 2cm gun and in 1942 served mainly for reconnaissance and signals. The Pz.Bef.Wg III Ausf H was a command vehicle on the chassis of the Panzer III with extended radio equipment, so instruments took up part of the fighting compartment. The PzKpfw III Ausf J belonged to the ordinary fighting armament and carried a 5cm gun. The line-up thus shows well how varied the vehicle park of a headquarters unit on the southern sector of the front was. At the same time machines from various production runs met with these companies, so differences in equipment were common.
Dip the cut-out insignia in lukewarm water for only a few seconds and let it come to rest on the paper, so that the membrane does not stretch. Smooth the seating with a cotton swab from the center outward and soak the excess moisture up. A longer drying time before the coat of varnish pays off with busy areas, and a perfectly dry surface will take final polishing too.
