The first sheet of the Windhund series from Star Decals offers historical markings of the hardware of the 116th Panzer Division. Named in the name are the SdKfz 234/1 armored car, the SdKfz 250/9 half-track in the neu version, the SdKfz 251/1 Ausf D carrier and the Jagd-Pz IV L/48 tank destroyer.
The SdKfz 234/1 was an eight-wheeled armored car with an open turret and a 2cm gun, intended for long-range reconnaissance. The SdKfz 250/9 half-track carried a similar reconnaissance turret on a lighter chassis. The medium SdKfz 251 carrier in the Ausf D version arose in a simplified form with flat sides. The Jagdpanzer IV with a 7.5cm gun with a barrel length of L/48 was a low tank destroyer on the PzKpfw IV chassis. The division served from 1944 on the Western Front and its hardware joined wheeled reconnaissance vehicles with tracked support machines, so it can be built as a whole group.
First finish the base color and let it cure perfectly, otherwise the surface under the membrane will be attacked. Position a decal while there is still water under it and move it with the point of a toothpick. Only then do the shades of dust and traces of service come in turn. The edges of turrets and superstructures call for patience; the membrane has to lie over them without a fold.
