The 1:72 Winter fun genre set aims at winter scenes and will offer figures away from military subjects.

The 1:72 Winter fun collection differs from most of what is available in small figures in that it does not aim at uniforms. It is a winter leisure subject, which suits quiet scenes and works as a counterweight to hardware in a cabinet.
A winter scene is in a way exceptional among dioramas: the snow unifies the coloring of the whole area and everything that stands out of it gains emphasis at once. Genre figures are the ideal focus in such a composition, because they draw the eye without the scene having to lean on a military story. They also serve well on a model railway, where winter scenes are among the staples and where civilian figures tend to be scarce.
The most common mistake in winter scenes is pure white. Real snow has bluish and grayish shadows in its flat areas and, near buildings, a cast toward warm ocher. The figures, by contrast, will benefit from strong clothing, because it is exactly that which is meant to stand out from the snowy background. Leave the footwear and the hem of the clothing darker and damper; the contact with the snow will then read. Use a gloss layer sparingly, only where the snow is meant to look frozen.
Finish the snow only after the figures are seated, otherwise unwanted gaps will appear around their bases.
