A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masking templates (kabuki masks) in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer New Ware. It is not an airplane kit but a masking set intended for spraying a plastic model of the experimental XB-70 Valkyrie bomber. The set holds masks for the cockpit glazing, for other clear parts and for the landing gear wheels. The exact contents of the package are given in the manufacturer's catalog.
The kabuki tape templates follow the canopy frames and the edges of the glazing exactly, so that spraying gives a sharp transition with no paint creeping under the mask. The wheel masks make a clean spray of the tires and the hubs easy. Masking by hand with tape is no longer needed and the result is both cleaner and quicker.
The XB-70 Valkyrie from North American was an experimental supersonic bomber of the 1960s. The six-engine aircraft with a delta wing and folding wingtips reached more than three times the speed of sound. It remained at the prototype stage and never entered series service.
This is a masking set, not a kit. The model of the aircraft, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
