A kit of the Czechoslovak Zlin Z-126 trainer in 1:72 scale. The boxing is built around military-style finishes that the aircraft did not wear in normal service.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Zlin Z-126 belongs to the numerous Trener family of training aircraft, built in Czechoslovakia from the end of the 1940s. It is a two-seat low-wing monoplane with tandem seats and a piston engine, intended for basic pilot training and for practicing aerobatics. Aircraft of this family flew in flying clubs for decades and a whole generation of pilots trained on them, so it is a type with an exceptionally strong reputation in its home country.
The name of the boxing refers to finishes in a military spirit, that is to schemes and markings the aircraft might have worn had it served in uniform. For the modeler this means an unusual treatment of an otherwise civil aircraft. The particular marking options and their placement are given in the instructions enclosed with the kit.
Before gluing, remove excess material and production marks from the parts, sand the mating surfaces and try the assembly dry. In 1:72 this is a small model, so it pays to work with tweezers and to apply the glue drop by drop. With the tandem layout the canopy glazing is long and you can see inside, so it makes sense to paint the cockpit before closing it and to mask the canopy carefully before spraying. Decals hold best on a smooth gloss surface.
The model is supplied unassembled. Paints, glue and putty are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
