Low weeds 1:72 and 1:87 is a Model Scene scenery vegetation material — small weed plants for the weed-grown edges of tracks, field margins and ruins.
Responsibility details are not available.
Scenery vegetation from the Czech manufacturer Model Scene. It is not a kit and not a finished tree, but a set of small weed plants on a carrier sheet. The plants are taken out one at a time and glued into the terrain of a diorama or a layout. The height matches low weeds in 1:72 and 1:87 scale.
Low weeds are one of the easiest ways to give a scene credibility. In reality they come up everywhere that is not mown and that nobody treads — along road shoulders, at the feet of fences and posts, in cracked concrete, between the ties of an industrial siding, around ruins and in the corners of yards. That is exactly why low weeds are so often used where neglect, abandonment or a long stay of a vehicle in one place is meant to show.
Plant the plants one at a time with tweezers into a drop of glue, ideally in irregular clusters. The best effect comes along edges and transitions — at curbs, thresholds, rails and the foundations of buildings — because the eye reads an edge as the place where vegetation always grows. The density should vary: a few isolated plants in an open area and a denser clump by a wall. Hide the transition to the roots with a fine static turf or sifted soil. The set can be blended with the scene in color by a light pass of an airbrush in a heavily thinned earth tone.
This is a scenery accessory, not a model kit. The glue, the paints and the substrate material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
