A model of an atomic bomb in 1:72 scale as an accessory for aircraft models and for dioramas with stored ordnance.
Responsibility details are not available.
An atomic bomb in 1:72 scale for aircraft models and for scenes with ordnance. It is offered under the double designation Mark 4 and B-41. Both designations belong to American nuclear bombs of the postwar period, but they are weapons of different generations and different sizes, so before the build compare the shape and the dimensions of the part against the carrier you want to use it on.
The accessory represents the body of a bomb in 1:72 scale. It comes into its own slung under a wing or stowed in a bomb bay, but it serves just as well in a storage scene on a handling trolley or on a wooden cradle, where it is fully on view. How many parts it is made up of and how they go together is shown by the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene and are glued with super glue. Cut any excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand off the rest with fine abrasive paper; the bomb has large smooth surfaces on which every scratch shows. Wash the surface in lukewarm soapy water before painting and degrease it, otherwise the primer will adhere poorly. On a smooth surface several thin coats of paint work better than one heavy one. Dry-fit the mounting of the bomb first, so that its axis comes out parallel with the axis of the fuselage and the bomb does not sit crooked.
The accessory will be appreciated by modelers of postwar bombers and by builders of base scenes where ordnance is being prepared for loading. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
