The M109 is an American 155 mm self-propelled howitzer on a tracked chassis, with the gun in a fully rotating turret. It entered service in the 1960s and, in a series of successive upgrades, was used by dozens of armies including European ones; the A2 version is one of those upgrades. The machine combines the firepower of artillery with the mobility of a tracked vehicle, which made it the mainstay of artillery units for many decades.
A complete kit in 1:72 scale. According to the name it is a whole model, not an accessory set for another kit. The build procedure and the recommended color scheme are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Fit the parts dry first and glue them only afterwards; in a small scale every deviation shows on the outline of the turret. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest with a fine abrasive. Before painting, wash the model in lukewarm soapy water and degrease it. A suitable glue and the order of assembly are given in the manufacturer's instructions. The large smooth surfaces of the superstructure look flat after a uniform spray, so gentle shading and bringing out the edges will help them; dust then ties the barrel and the running gear together.
The kit is for modelers who build postwar and contemporary ground vehicles in 1:72 scale and for builders of dioramas with artillery. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
