Translucent resin wings for fantasy monsters in the smaller size, 21 mm across and 48 mm long. Suitable for figures from 25 to 54 mm, supplied unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The smaller of the two sizes offered measures 21 mm across and 48 mm long. That size suits figures in a range of roughly 25 to 54 mm, that is, the usual heroes of board and turn-based games as well as larger monsters on a round base. The casting is in clear resin, which can be left without a coat so that you make use of the way light passes through it, or tinted with heavily thinned paint while keeping it translucent.
The shape of the membrane with its irregular veining is aimed at demons of decay, insect aliens and home-made conversions where it should be obvious at first glance that the creature can leave the ground. The wings are not tied to one game range, so you can transfer them to a figure from any manufacturer as long as the scale matches.
The supplier recommends super glue. The contact area on a resin part is usually small and under load, so it pays to roughen the joint with a fine file and add a wire pin: a hole is drilled into the back of the figure and into the root of the wing, and the wire ties the joint together. Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water before gluing so that no mold release agent is left on the surface.
Paint holds better on clear resin after priming, but a primer also kills the transparency. Anyone who wants to keep it translucent applies thin glazes from the outside only and leaves the inner side of the membrane bare. The parts are supplied unpainted, and the figure and the base are not included in the package.
