AMMO Metal Slag Pigment - modeling pigment, 35 ml

A fine modeling pigment from AMMO (Mig Jimenez) in a bottle of 35 ml. It is a dry loose powder, not a liquid paint - the pigment is applied dry and serves to create the effect of slag-like, burnt metal rust and deposits of the kind that form on hot and damaged metal parts. The shade is tuned for the engines and nozzles of spacecraft from science fiction films, but it will serve just as well on the nozzles and exhausts of aircraft, on the engines and exhaust systems of vehicles and on typical battle damage.

Use

• Pick the pigment up with a soft brush and rub it into the surface dry in places under thermal and mechanical stress.
• To anchor it permanently, fix the pigment with a pigment fixer or with mineral spirits; once fixed it darkens and goes flat.
• Layer it and combine it with other pigment shades for a three-dimensional, multi-tone effect of slag and rust.
• Dust the surplus loose powder off lightly before fixing, so that you keep the effect under control.
