This aftermarket accessory is not a whole model but a metal replacement barrel. It replaces the plastic barrel from the kit and gives the massive German gun of 88 mm caliber a faithful, perfectly straight profile and a sharp muzzle. Thanks to the L/100 length the barrel is exceptionally slender and long, which is exactly the situation where turned metal stands out over plastic.
The 8.8 cm KwK 44 L/100 was a German experimental tank gun of 88 mm caliber with an extended barrel 100 calibers long, derived from the proven family of weapons of 88 mm caliber. The longer barrel was to increase the muzzle velocity and the penetration markedly. The weapon remained at the development stage at the end of the Second World War and never reached production service.
Exchange the plastic barrel for the metal one, clean up the mating surface in the turret carefully and glue the barrel in with cyanoacrylate or epoxy. With a barrel as long as this, take care to align the axis precisely. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer for the airbrush.
This is a separate detail accessory (a metal barrel), not a complete kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
