An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat F-16B/D Fighting Falcon in 1:144 scale from Trumpeter. The small scale gives a compact model with finely engraved panel lines, clear cockpit parts and underwing stores. The package offers decals for two color schemes. It is a quick, undemanding build suitable for a shelf or for a collection of modern fighters.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is an American single-engine multirole fighter, one of the most widespread combat machines of its generation. The letters B and D mark the two-seat versions with a tandem cockpit, used for training and for combat duties alike. The designations Block 15 and Block 30 distinguish production batches differing in avionics and power plant; Block 15 is one of the most numerous early versions, while Block 30 belongs among the upgraded machines.
In 1:144 scale the parts are tiny, so work with a sharp knife and liquid cement and separate the smaller pieces carefully. Apply the paint in thin coats so that the fine detail is not lost. Mask the canopy and fit it only at the end. For the gray camouflage schemes of modern fighters an airbrush and a light emphasis of the panels work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
