A large-format plastic kit in 1:16 scale from Trumpeter covering the German Jagdpanther tank destroyer in its late rendering. Thanks to the large scale the set is exceptionally rich: it contains a multi-part lower and upper hull, a full interior, individual track links and photo-etched parts. Given its extent it is a demanding project for experienced modelers.
The Jagdpanther (Sd.Kfz 173) was one of the most effective German tank destroyers of the Second World War. It was built on the proven chassis of the Panther tank and carried a powerful 88 mm gun in a fixed armored superstructure. The late version differed from the earlier ones in details of the hull structure, the exhaust system and other features reflecting the changes in series production at the end of the war.
Work from the running gear and the interior, which should be finished and painted before the hull is closed. Assemble the individual track links patiently and leave them movable for a realistic sag. An airbrush suits the large areas, and the final patina is created with washes, filters and pigments. The dimensions of a 1:16 model call for plenty of space and a firm sequence of gluing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
