Trumpeter 1:16 T-34/85 Model 1944 Factory No. 174 is a sizeable and exceptionally detailed plastic kit of the Soviet medium tank in the large 1:16 scale, with a worked-out interior, photo-etched grilles and metal fittings for demanding modelers.

The flagship model of the Soviet T-34/85 medium tank in the large 1:16 scale from Trumpeter. It is an extensive kit with a very high part count, a fully fitted interior, photo-etched parts and metal items (the tow cable wire and springs, for example). The finished model is imposing: it measures over 50 cm in length. The version corresponds to the Model 1944 built by Factory No. 174, with its characteristic faceted turret and the early split commander's hatch.
The T-34 is one of the most important tanks of the Second World War; the T-34/85 version was given a larger three-man turret and a powerful 85 mm gun (the ZiS-S-53), which greatly increased its firepower against German tanks. Moving the radio into the turret also eased the commander's workload. The Model 1944 represents a later production form, and Factory No. 174 in Omsk was one of the main producers of these machines.
Because of the size and the interior it is best to build in subassemblies: first the running gear and the inside of the hull, and only then close up the superstructure. It pays to paint and weather the interior and the engine bay before they disappear under the armor. At the end you will appreciate washes in the recesses and pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear. Bond the photo-etched grilles with super glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
