An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 fighter in the large 1:18 scale from Hobby Boss. The large scale allows a detailed rendering of the engine, the cockpit and the landing gear, and the resulting model is strikingly big. The set is intended to be glued and painted.
The Fw 190 was one of the most successful German fighters of the Second World War. The A-8 version was among the most widespread variants, with the BMW 801 radial engine, heavier armament and the option of carrying additional weapon kits. The aircraft was valued for its robust structure, good handling at higher speeds and its toughness in combat.
At a large scale it pays to work up the cockpit interior and the radial engine, which are clearly visible. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, and prepare the large surfaces of the wings and the fuselage for an even coat from the airbrush. The German aviation palette of grays and greens comes out well with preshading and fine highlighting of the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
