American gasoline loaders of the 1910s, 1:24 scale from the manufacturer ICM is a set of plastic figures for period automobile scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of injection-molded plastic figures from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM depicting the workers who filled fuel into the first automobiles around the time of the First World War. It is not a model of a vehicle but an accessory: the figures in 1:24 scale bring a garage, a period fuel outlet or a display case scene with automobiles of the early twentieth century to life. The large scale makes them a rewarding subject for painting, because even the details of clothing and footwear come into play.
At the beginning of the twentieth century gasoline was usually not sold from pumps as we know them today. It was delivered in cans and barrels, poured by hand through a funnel with a cloth filter, and the attendants worked in simple work clothes and aprons. Only gradually did pumps appear at the curb, and with them the trade of the attendant. For modeling it is a rewarding period: to automobiles with tall wheels and open bodies belong barrels, cans and the people who handle them.
Before painting, sand down the mold seams and flash; in 1:24 scale they are clearly visible. Try the stance of the figures dry against the vehicle or the scene before gluing, because once the glue has set the arms and legs are hard to adjust. Period work clothes had muted shades of gray, brown and blue, and cloth is well imitated by matte acrylic paint with a light shadow in the folds. Oil paints, which blend for a long time, suit the faces and hands. Weather the aprons and sleeves with a dark wash so that they look used, and finish the whole thing with a matte varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, vehicles and scene accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
