An injection-molded plastic kit of the British fighter Hawker Hurricane in the large 1:24 scale from Trumpeter. It is the tropical anti-tank version Mk.IID with a sand filter. The model is made up of more than two hundred plastic parts and is richly equipped – it contains photo-etched parts, rubber tires, clear parts for the canopy and film for the instruments. The wingspan of the assembled model is about 508 mm and the length about 408 mm.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British fighter of the 1930s which, together with the Spitfire, carried the main burden of the Battle of Britain. The Mk.IID version was a specialized tank buster armed with a pair of underwing 40 mm anti-tank cannons backed up by machine guns. The tropical modification with a dust filter destined it for use in North Africa.
Use liquid cement for plastic and clean the parts of flash and seams. Apply a primer before painting, cover with an airbrush and use masks or tape on the glazing. The large scale rewards careful weathering of the engine, the landing gear and the guns with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
