An injection-molded plastic model of the sports sedan Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 16v in 1:24 scale from the Italian brand Italeri. The kit offers an opening front hood with a detailed engine and a faithfully worked body of the compact Mercedes. Rubber tires, decals and a color instruction sheet are included; the choice of finishes makes it possible to build the cars from the Race of Champions event at the Nürburgring in 1984, among whose participants were Ayrton Senna and Niki Lauda.
The Mercedes-Benz 190E (internal W201 series) was a compact sedan introduced in the mid-1980s. The top 2.3-16 version received a sixteen-valve head developed in cooperation with the Cosworth company, a sports suspension and aerodynamic add-ons. The car became famous as the basis of circuit racers and as a symbol of the arrival of Mercedes in sports sedans, which later led to successes in the DTM.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic; treat the body with primer before painting. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats and lay the decals onto a gloss base, going over them with a clear coat if you wish. Paint and assemble the engine bay under the opening hood and the interior before you close the body up. Glue the chrome trim and the clear parts such as the glazing and the headlights last, so that the clear plastic does not get clouded.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
