An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet fighter Polikarpov I-16 type 29 in the large 1:32 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM. The model has a finely worked surface with internal fuselage structure, a detailed cockpit and clear parts. It contains decals for several Soviet Air Force finishes.
The I-16 was one of the first monoplane fighters with retractable landing gear and was, for its day, a modern design from the design bureau of N. N. Polikarpov. The type 29 version was among the later configurations: it received a more powerful engine, strengthened landing gear and reworked armament. The aircraft made its mark in the conflicts of the 1930s and in the first phases of the war on the Eastern Front.
The cockpit and the interior stand out in the large 1:32 scale, so assemble and paint them carefully before you glue the fuselage together; fit the clear glazing at the end and mask around it. Glue the plastic parts with liquid cement for plastic, then fill and sand the joints. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting, spray the colors with an airbrush in thin coats and pick out the details with washes in the engraved lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
