Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in the large 1:32 scale from Revell. This is a detailed model with an elaborate cockpit and instrument panel, a rendered radiator, a movable four-blade propeller, a detailed landing gear, and the universal c-wing fitted with cannons. The set contains over 150 parts and suits a more experienced modeler.
The Spitfire Mk.IX was created as a quick response to the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190, pairing the proven Spitfire airframe with the powerful two-stage Rolls-Royce Merlin 60-series engine. The version with the universal c-wing allowed different armament combinations (most often two 20 mm cannons and four 7.7 mm machine guns). The Mk.IX served as both a high-altitude interceptor and a fighter-bomber and was one of the most numerous and successful Spitfire versions of the Second World War.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement. It pays to paint the cockpit and instrument panel before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before the final coat; typical British camouflage schemes (such as Dark Green and Ocean Grey over Medium Sea Grey undersides) look their best with an airbrush. Highlight panel lines with a wash and fine shading. On a model this large, check the stability of the landing gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
