This product is an accurately turned metal barrel of the 125 mm 2A46 tank gun in the version without a thermal protective shroud, in 1:35 scale. It is not a stand-alone kit of a tank but an accessory that replaces the plastic barrel in models of the Soviet T-64 and T-72A tanks. The manufacturer is the Polish brand Aber.
The smoothbore 2A46 gun of 125 mm caliber was the basic armament of Soviet tanks from the T-64 through the T-72 up to the later types. The early versions of the T-64 and T-72A tanks carried a barrel without the characteristic heat shroud, which appeared only with the later upgrades. This variant of the barrel therefore matches the earlier versions.
A metal barrel has a perfectly circular section with no mold seams, which on plastic parts have to be sanded away. The faithful shape and the clean finish of the muzzle raise the realism of the model. The barrel is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); before painting, degrease the metal and spray it with a primer.
This is a metal accessory, not a model of a tank. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
