A set of period weapons and personal gear from the American Civil War in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM. It is not a kit of a vehicle and not a set of figures, but an accessory for figures and dioramas of the years 1861 to 1865.

This item is not a model of a vehicle and not a set of figures. It is an accessory set of parts which brings period small arms and the personal gear of soldiers of the American Civil War in 1:35 scale. The manufacturer is the Ukrainian firm ICM, which in the same scale also makes figures from this conflict. The set is therefore intended above all for arming them and for filling a diorama with the small props that lend a scene the credibility of its period.
The American Civil War ran from 1861 to 1865 and falls into the period of transition from percussion muzzle-loaders to the first repeating systems. The infantry of both sides used percussion rifles for the most part, with bayonets to go with them, while the cavalry and the officers carried revolvers and sabers. The personal gear included cartridge pouches, haversacks, canteens, knapsacks and rolled blankets. It is precisely these small things that most betray the period on a diorama and tell the individual figures apart.
The parts are small, so cut them off with a sharp scalpel or a photo-etched saw and clean the cut carefully, so that no burr is left. They are glued with ordinary thin cement for polystyrene. The wood of the stocks looks best when an oil glaze is applied over a brown base and spread along the grain. For the metal parts a dark gray with light burnishing with graphite is enough. A dark wash and a dry brush will bring out the leather straps and the pouches. At the end even the surface out with a matte varnish.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
